Start Here: Welcome!
- Who are you?
I'm Silk, thanks for stopping by. I live in the Seattle area with a wife and dog and love Seahawks football, but opportunistically enjoy most professional football.
- What is 23 lead?
My favorite play-call as an offensive lineman- I knew when I heard it even if Mark, JJ, or anyone else in the backfield ended up bouncing outside or cutting back, we were firing out.
For full points: I-Right, 23 lead, on one on one, BREAK.
The halfback (2) would take the handoff from the QB and follow the lead-blocking fullback to the right side behind the guard; obviously, the right guard should strive to win at the line of scrimmage but this can be mitigated depending on the situational football - the center can block down to help, the tackle can double, etc.
Special shout out to Coach Sly - my love of trench play came from your passion, tutelage and mentorship.
- Why are you qualified?
I am a former trench player; having started at both tackle spots on the offensive line and played all across the defensive line in high school. Since I barely cracked six feet tall and a buck ninety, college ball was not going to be a thing I could partake in as a player. Instead, I joined the campus radio station and was color commentator for a D-III national championship run (go Cats!) which was a wild experience.
- That doesn't sound like qualifications.
Of course, be a buzzkill. Look, I'm not a former professional or intercollegiate player. I'm just a guy who loves tough, physical football and I am as hormonal with hot takes and silly with roster scenarios and prone to hyperbole.
